The Embassy of Japan and the Executive Committee for the 22nd Japanese Public Speaking Contest are pleased to announce that "The 22nd Japanese Public Speaking Contest" will be held as indicated below.
Nihongo wo benkyo suru minasan, why not participate in the contest and show your Japanese proficiency? Winners will be awarded splendid prizes.
The contest is open to the public. Admission is free.

5 minutes (A brief Q&A period is scheduled.)
5. Expected number of participants
Approx. 20 (If a larger-than-anticipated number register, some pre-selection may be required.)
6. Qualifications
Participants must
(1) be at least 18 years of age.
(2) hold nationality of the Netherlands or that of another European Union member state and have resided in the Netherlands for a consecutive six-month period preceding the date of the contest.
(3) have never lived in Japan for more than two years.
(4) have never previously held Japanese nationality. Persons with one or more parents holding Japanese nationality are not eligible.
(5) not be the spouse or registered partner of a Japanese national.
7. Application
Participants are requested to send by mail, fax or e-mail the following information to the Embassy of Japan.
(1) name
(2) age
(3) address
(4) telephone number
(5) e-mail address
(6) occupation or university/college
(7) length of study of Japanese
(8) length of stay and purpose of any visit to Japan, if applicable
