On June 13, the 10th anniversary of Japan Museum Sieholdhuis was celebrated at the Sieboldhuis and the Leiden Botanical Garden in the presence of people who have been involved in the activities of the Sieboldhuis in various ways for the past 10 years. After the speeches of Mr. Lenferink, Mayor of Leiden, and Mr. Engelsman, Director of the Weltmuseum Wien (former Director of Museum Volkenkunde in Leiden), the performance of the Dejima trio, consisting of Japanese and Dutch musicians, followed. The dinner began with a toast proposed by Ambassador Tsuji, and after the dinner the aria ‘Dejima, Siebold’s love’ was performed by Ms. Makiko Goto (koto) and Ms. Ekaterina Levental (mezzo soprano and harp).
