Networking event for people studying Japan (5 February 2015) |
16 February 2015
On 5 February, the Embassy of Japan hosted a networking event at the Ambassador’s Residence for people studying Japan, which was attended by Japanese language students, former participants of the JET (Japanese Exchange and Teaching) Programme, former grantees of the Japanese Government (Monbukagakusho, MEXT) scholarship and company representatives. After a welcome by Ambassador Tsuji, the audience listened to a series of speeches by a former JET participant, a former MEXT grantee, a representative of JCC (Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the Netherlands) and representatives of DUJAT (Dutch-Japanese Trade Federation). They spoke about their experiences in Japan, differences between the business environments of Japan and the Netherlands, and the current state of affairs of Japanese companies, which were all topics that might be especially useful to students of the Japanese language. During the reception that followed, the attendees used the opportunity to engage in a meaningful exchange of views and opinions.
