On 17 August, the Dutch Nishikigoi Association hosted the Holland Koi Show at Castle Arcen in the small city of Arcen, about 210 kilometers to the southeast of The Hague. At the Koi Show, Ambassador Tsuji made a speech about the way koi carps help preserving the Japanese-Dutch relationship, after which the sponsors held an award ceremony for the many winners from various areas of expertise.
At the venue, not only koi carps and feed were sold, but there were also corners for taiko drum performances, sushi, origami and bonsai, and it was crowded with a lot of visitors.
