Please be warned of suspicious “Japanese scholarship information”.

According to reports from several Embassies of Japan in Africa, an unidentified organization has been sending incorrect information by mail and through the internet (Web-site) on the Japanese Government Scholarship Programme. The report states that deposits were requested for registration purposes by this malefide organization.  The Japanese Government Scholarship Programme is organized by Embassies of Japan, Consulates General of Japan or universities in Japan and when  applying  for these scholarships you are never requested to pay a deposit.

You are therefore urged to be watchful of such suspicious information and are advised, when in doubt,  to verify information through the nearest Embassy of Japan
