On 15 July 2015, a gathering to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Japan-Netherlands Peace Exchange Program was held at the Ambassador’s residence. The participants to the program in last 10 years and honorary guests were invited.
The Japan-Netherlands Peace Exchange Program is a program under which war victims, who suffered from experiences in the former Dutch East Indies during the World War II, have been invited to Japan. Including the participants of the previous program conducted between 1995 and 2004 more than 600 Dutch war victims visited Japan upon invitation.
In the outset of the reception, Ambassador Tsuji, President of the House of Representative, Mrs. Van Miltenburg, Mr. Jacobs, Former Dutch ambassador to Japan, representing the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Van Bodegom, Chairman of the Advisory Committee and Mrs. Van Boxtel, a participant of the program in 2013, gave their speeches and congratulatory messages at this 10th anniversary. All participants of the program, who attended the gathering, expressed their high appreciation for this program.
