Three Dutch Nationals to receive the Order of the Rising Sun |

The Government of Japan announced that the following Dutch Nationals is being awarded the Order of the Rising Sun this autumn. 1. Prof. Dr. Johannes Auguste Hans van Ginkel, Former Rector of United Nations University and Former Rector and Magnificus of Utrecht University, is being awarded Grand Cordon of the Order of the Rising Sun in recognition of his contributions to enhance the international status of Japan. 2. Mr. Ronald Gomes Casseres, Former Honorary Consul General of Japan to the Netherlands Antilles, is being awarded The Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Neck Ribbon in recognition of his contributions to promote the friendly relationship between Japan and the Netherlands. 3. Mr. Gerrit Lodder, Honorary Chairman of the Dutch Bonsai Association, is being awarded The Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Rays in recognition of his contributions to introduce the Japanese traditional culture of "Bonsai".
