On December 10th 2015, the Conferment Ceremony of the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Neck Ribbon upon Mr. Marcel P.R.C. van Aelst, President of Hotel Okura Amsterdam, was held at the Residence of Ambassador Tsuji.
At the ceremony, Ambassador Tsuji delivered a congratulatory address and conferred the decoration upon Mr. Aelst after presenting the Patent of Decoration.
Close friends of Mr. Aelst and persons from Japanese-Dutch cultural and economic field attended to celebrate Mr. Aelst’s conferment.

On November 3rd 2015, the Government of Japan announced the foreign recipients of the 2015 Autumn Decorations. Among them, Mr. Marcel P.R.C. van Aelst, President of Hotel Okura Amsterdam received the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Neck Ribbon, in recognition of his significant contributions to the promotion of mutual understanding, cultural and economic relations between Japan and the Netherlands.
