Delegation of the Japan-Netherlands Parliamentary Friendship League visits the Netherlands (14-17 January)

Exchanging views with the Standing Committee for Foreign Affairs of the Dutch House of Representatives
Lunch with DUJAT representatives

 

From 14 to 17 January, a delegati on of the Japan-Netherlands Parliamentary Friendship League (Mr. Seishirō Etō, Mr. Takao Fujii, Mr. Junji Suzuki, Mr. Ichirō Miyashita and Mr. Akihiro Nishimura, members of the House of Representatives of Japan) visited the Netherlands “to promote the exchange with the Dutch Parliament and to survey the state of affairs in politics and economics”.
On 15 January, the delegation exchanged views with the Standing Committee for Foreign Affairs of the House of Representatives of the Dutch Parliament, and with representatives of the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The following day, the delegation was present at the New Year’s reception of the Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCC) in the Netherlands. They also had the opportunity to meet with people from the Netherlands-Japan Association and the Dutch & Japanese Trade Federation (DUJAT).

During their stay, the delegation visited Food Valley in Wageningen, the Natural History Museum and SieboldHuis in Leiden, after which they paid a visit to the National Archives and the International Court of Justice (the Peace Palace) in The Hague. Furthermore, they visited the Port of Rotterdam, the Maeslantkering (storm surge barrier), FloraHolland (flower market), as well as Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam.
