JPP Foundation awarded Foreign Minister's Commendation |

The Japanese Foreign Minister’s Commendations are awarded annually to those persons or organizations having rendered exceptional and distinguished services to the promotion of mutual understanding, friendship and goodwill between their countries and Japan. The Japan Prizewinners Foundation was awarded the Foreign Minister’s Commendation at a graduation ceremony of the 11th group of the JPP Programme this afternoon in “De Nieuwe of Littéraire Sociëteit De Witte” in the Hague. The Japan Prizewinners Programme (JPP) is a one-year postgraduate course for outstanding Dutch graduates with a university masters degree, who may aspire to become leaders in Dutch society. Each year up to twenty participants are recruited from among the best university graduates in various fields of studyand undergo training to prepare thenm for a 7-month stay in Japan. In Japan, the core of the programme will be the placement with a company or other institution. Participants will obtain a scholarship for one year from the JPP Foundation, which is funded by the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture and Science. The commendation certificate was presented to Dr. A. Pais, former Minster of Education and chairman of the JPP Foundation by the Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of Japan, Mr. Kiyokazu Ota. |
