On Tuesday, December 4th, Ambassador Nagamine and Mrs. Nagamine held a reception at their residence to celebrate the 79th birthday of His Majesty The Emperor of Japan.  (The actual birthday of the Emperor is December 23rd. ) More than 300 guests attended the reception including leaders and representatives of the Dutch Government, International Organizations and Dutch and Japanese society.

The programme began with a rendition of the national anthems of the Netherlands and Japan. Ambassador Nagamine then gave his inaugural speech as the new Head of Mission and closed with his congratulatory remarks on the birthday of His Majesty and a toast to the friendship between Japan and the Netherlands.
