Visit to the Netherlands by the Parliamentary Vice-Minister Matsushita of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (Meeting with the Delta Programme Commissioner at the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and Environment, Inspection of the Maeslantkering) |
On July 10th, Mr. Shimpei Matsushita, Parliamentary Vice-Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, visited the Netherlands. In the morning he inspected the Maeslantkering (the last large-scale storm surge barrier from the comprehensive flood management policy called Delta Plan, which was created in the aftermath of the 1952 flood disaster). In the afternoon a meeting was held with Mr. Wim Kuijken, Delta Programme Commissioner at the Ministry of Infrastructure and Environment.
