The Embassy of Japan in the Netherlands announces a vacancy for an Assistant in the Cultural and Information Section.
 

• Managing the Embassy’s social media and website (including editing audiovisual materials).
• Creative writing, drafting, correcting, translating and editing texts.
• Creative input and design of our Embassy’s promotional materials.
• Reply to inquiries and receive visitors to the Cultural and Information Centre.
• Maintain the Cultural and Information Centre.
• Organise, support and attend cultural and embassy events. 
• Arrange meetings and appointments.
• Processing exchange programs and subsidy applications.
• Maintain network with the cultural sector, sports sector and the press.
• Research and analysis.
• Miscellaneous tasks related to the Information and Culture Centre.

• University (of Applied Sciences) graduate or equivalent.
• A proven interest in Japanese culture and historical relations between Japan and the Netherlands.
• Excellent command of current national and international affairs.
• Knowledge of the Dutch cultural sector.
• Excellent command of the English language and fluent in both written and spoken Dutch, knowledge of Japanese language and Japanese culture is an advantage.
• Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office and social media. Knowledge of video and image editing software is an advantage.
• Creativity, flexibility, intercultural sensitivity and the ability to work in a team.
• A work permit (if applicable) issued by the Dutch authorities (for non-Dutch nationals only)

• A CV (in English) with a recent photograph.
• Copies of all relevant educational certificates.
• A letter of application outlining motivation (in English).
• A letter of recommendation.
