Vacation Fair 2020 (January 15-19, 2020)

From 15 to 19 January, the annual Vacation Fair (“Vakantiebeurs”) was held in Utrecht. Our Embassy cooperated with the London office of the Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO) as well as various travel companies that set up the Japan booth for information on travel to Japan.

On Saturday the 18th, Ambassador Horinouchi and Mayor of Utrecht Mr. van Zanen visited the Japan booth. After their speeches, they performed a “Kagami biraki (鏡開き)” ceremony together with Mr. Ichikawa, the executive director of the JNTO London office, to ring in the New Year the Japanese traditional way with the visitors. Afterwards, the visitors were treated to sushi and Japanese “sake”.
