Visa and Travel Information

※The visa exemption measures resumed from 0:00(JST) on 11 October 2022.
   Foreign nationals on 
this list who go to Japan as 'a temporary visitor' are not required to apply for a visa.


※From September 30, 2023, the Government of Japan will introduce Visa Waiver Measure for nationals of the Federative Republic of Brazil in possession of ordinary IC passport who wish to enter Japan for a period not exceeding consecutive 90 days for short-term stay(Details are here).

※Indonesian nationals who have a valid visa waiver registration granted by the embassy of Japan in Indonesia are not required to apply for a visa to go to Japan (Details are here).

Application: 9:00-11:30 (from Monday to Friday except Embassy closing dates)
Collection: 13:30-16:00 (same as above)

※This doesn’t mean that you apply for a visa in the morning and you can pick it up in the afternoon on the same day.
※Appointments are not required.


Visa applications are accepted from Dutch national or those living in the Netherlands.
Visa applications should be applied in person or through a proxy (A proxy can carry out the application procedures with your letter of proxy.)
Visa applications are not accepted by post and e-mail.


Please note that we do not accept visa application after 11:30 and do not issue a visa before 13:30.

The period required from the visa application to the issuance of the visa is generally 5 working days as long as there are no particular problems with the content of the application. Some specific visa procedures may take longer and, if this should be the case, you will be informed of this fact when you submit your documents.
