Certain requirements and rules apply when bringing medicines for personal use into Japan. These rules and requirements differ depending on the type and amount of medicine being imported.

There are no medication experts at the Embassy of Japan in the Netherlands and as such we are unable to provide information pertaining to specific medicines. If you are unsure about any aspect of importing medicines for personal use into Japan, please contact the regional office of Health and Welfare Bureau closest to your point of arrival in Japan from the list below.
