Twentieth Session of the Conference of the States Parties to the Chemical Weapons Convention

The Conference of the States Parties to the Chemical Weapons Convention held its Twentieth Session from Monday, 30 November to Friday, 4 December 2015 at the World Forum Convention Center, the Hague, the Netherlands. Of the 192 States Parties 134 countries, including Japan, participated in the Session. In this Session, the progress in the destruction of remaining stockpiles of chemical weapons was reported, and the Programme and Budget of the OPCW for 2016 was adopted as well. Ambassador Masaru Tsuji, Permanent Representation of Japan to the OPCW, made a statement on the General debate.

Japan set up panels and a video display showing the destruction of Chemical Weapons Abandoned by Japan in the People’s Republic of China, during the whole duration of the session. An event held on second day of the session introduced the display to the attendees.
