Yoshida Brothers Concert in Amstelveen

On the 29th of March, the Yoshida Brothers’ concert organized by the Embassy of Japan and the Japan Foundation took place at the Schouwburg Amstelveen. March 2016 marked the fifth year after the 2011 Great East Japan earthquake that had such a devastating impact. The Yoshida Brothers, famous and virtuoso players of the Tsugaru Shamisen, took this occasion to express their feelings of gratitude for all the support and expressions of sympathy that Japan received from the Netherlands after the disaster.
At the beginning of the concert, Ambassador Inomata also conveyed his thankfulness for the numerous initiatives and charity events that were held to support Japan, and at the same time expressed his wish for the Netherlands and Japan to deepen their friendship even further.
The concert was a great success; the Yoshida Brothers charmed the audience with their energy and dynamic playing style in a concert hall that was fully booked in a matter of two days due to overwhelming interest!
