Conferment Ceremony of “The Order of the Rising Sun、 Gold and Silver Rays” upon Mrs. Corrie van der Meer-Fischer、 President of the Dutch Ikebana Association

On 14 June 2016、 the Conferment Ceremony of “The Order of the Rising Sun、 Gold and Silver Rays” upon Mrs. Corrie van der Meer-Fischer、 President of the Dutch Ikebana Association、 was held at the Residence of Ambassador Inomata.
At the ceremony、 Ambassador Inomata delivered a congratulatory address and conferred the decoration upon Mrs. Van der Meer-Fischer after presenting the Patent of Decoration.
 
Close friends of Mrs. Van der Meer-Fischer、 people from the Ikebana and Japanese-Dutch cultural fields、 as well as Ambassador of Switzerland H.E. Mr. Breiter、 and Mayor Strien of Olst-Wijhe attended、 and together they celebrated Mrs. Corrie van der Meer-Fischer’s conferment.

On April 29 2016, the Government of Japan announced the foreign recipients of the 2016 Spring Conferment of Decorations.
 
Among them, Mrs. Cornelia Verena (Corrie) van der Meer - Fischer, President of the Dutch Ikebana Association, Former President and current President ad interim of Ikebana International Chapter 215, and President of “Ichiyo Chapter the Netherlands”, received “The Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Rays”, in recognition of her significant contribution to introducing Japanese culture and promoting understanding of Japan in the Netherlands through Ikebana.
