Anime 2016: co-organized events by the Embassy of Japan
20 June 2016
From 10 to 12 June, Anime 2016, the biggest convention of Japanese popular culture in the Netherlands, took place in The Hague. For three consecutive days, the World Forum hosted thousands of anime enthusiasts, of which the majority donned colorful and creative cos-play outfits.
On Saturday, Ambassador Inomata visited Anime 2016 to have a look at the many different areas and activities, and the great number of stalls offering food, figurines and other items. The Embassy co-organized a workshop by a famous outfit maker known as Goldy Marg (Mr. Takahiro Sakai), and five films screenings. Goldy gave a well-attended workshop to demonstrate how he creates impressive cos-play outfits and armors from paper, foam and vinyl.
