On Sunday 19 June the botanical gardens of the Oranjerie in Den Helder were the venue of the 10th annual Japan Day. From sushi workshops to admiring handcrafted temari, several hundreds of visitors enjoyed Japanese culture at a variety of stands.
Ambassador Inomata stopped by as well, taking a walk through the Japanese garden and the rest of the botanical gardens, meeting stand holders and Japan enthusiasts along the way.
This year there was also a delegation of Japanese sake brewers who came to the event in Den Helder to introduce some brands of sake bottled in kegs that were made in the Netherlands. The sake could then be enjoyed with some fine cuisine of Japanese chefs that were also present at the Japan Day.
