Conferment Ceremony of “The Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Rays” for Mr. Hein Odinot, former president of the Nederlandse Kendo Renmei (4 July 2017)

On 4 July 2017, a ceremony was held at the Residence of Ambassador Inomata to confer “The Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Rays” upon Mr. Hein Odinot, former president of the Nederlandse Kendo Renmei (Dutch Kendo Federation).
During the ceremony, Ambassador Inomata delivered a congratulatory speech and conferred the decoration upon Mr. Odinot after presenting the Patent of Decoration.
Close friends, family members and people from both Japanese and Dutch Budo (Japanese martial arts) and cultural communities were present to congratulate Mr. Odinot on his decoration.

On April 29 2017, the Government of Japan announced the foreign recipients of the 2017 Spring Conferment of Decorations.
Among them, Mr. Hein Odinot, the former chairman of the Nederlandse Kendo Renmei (the Dutch Kendo Federation) will receive “The Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Rays” in recognition of his significant contribution to promoting ‘Budo’ in the Netherlands and friendly relations between Japan and the Netherlands.
Mr. Odinot will receive the decoration during a special ceremony this summer.
