On 11 July 2017, the Ceremony was held at the Residence of Ambassador Inomata to confer “the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Neck Ribbon” upon Mr. Jacob van der Goot, the former Honorary Consul-General of Japan in Rotterdam.
At the Ceremony, Ambassador Inomata delivered a congratulatory address and conferred the decoration upon Mr. van der Goot after presenting the Patent of Decoration.
Close friends, people from Japanese-Dutch economic and cultural communities attended to congratulate Mr. van der Goot's Conferment.

On April 29 2017, the Government of Japan announced the foreign recipients of the 2017 Spring Conferment of Decorations.
Among them, Mr. Jacob van der Goot, the former Honorary Consul-General of Japan in Rotterdam (co-chairman of the Rotterdam Japan Club) will receive “The Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Neck Ribbon” in recognition of his significant contribution to promoting friendly relations and economic exchanges between Japan and the Netherlands.
Mr. Van der Goot will receive the decoration during a special ceremony this summer.
