Mr. Susumu Shimokawa, Chef at the residence of the Ambassador of Japan receives the Foreign Minister’s Commendation (September 28, 2017)

On September 28, a ceremony was held for Chef Susumu Shimokawa to award him with Foreign Minister’s commendation and a medal recognizing his service.

Whenever Dutch government officials or Ambassadors of other countries visit the Japanese Ambassador’s Residence, Chef Shimokawa presents excellent Japanese cuisine that always receives high praise from the guests. Before starting his duties as a chef at the Ambassador’s Residence in the Netherlands, Chef Shimokawa worked as a chef at the Japanese Ambassador’s Residence in Croatia. As such, Chef Shimokawa has greatly contributed to successful diplomatic activities and that is why he was also awarded the title of “Excellent Executive Chef for Ambassadors of Japan”.
