Conferment Ceremony of “The Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Neck Ribbon” for Dr. J.A. Stam, Professor Emeritus of Erasmus University Rotterdam and University of Twente（December 15, 2017）

On 15 Deecember 2017, a ceremony was held at the Residence of Ambassador Inomata to confer “The Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Neck Ribbon” upon Dr. J.A. Stam, Professor Emeritus of Erasmus University Rotterdam and University of Twente.
During the ceremony, Ambassador Inomata delivered a congratulatory speech and conferred the decoration upon Dr. Stam after presenting the Patent of Decoration.
 
Close friends, family members, Japanese experts in the Netherlands and people from related communities were present to congratulate Dr. Stam on his decoration.

On November 3, 2017, the Government of Japan announced the foreign recipients of the 2017 Autumn Conferment of Decorations.
Among them, Dr. J.A. Stam, Professor Emeritus of Erasmus University Rotterdam and University of Twente will receive “the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Neck Ribbon” in recognition of his significant contribution to developing Japanese studies and promoting better understanding of Japan in the Netherlands.
