From the 9th till the 14th of January the “Vacation Fair” was held in Utrecht. The exhibit at the Japan booth was managed by the Embassy of Japan in the Netherlands and the London office of the JNTO、 as well as several local travel organizations that specialize in Japan. On Saturday the 13th、 Ambassador Inomata visited the booth together with the Mayor of Utrecht Mr. Van Zanen. After their speeches they joined for “Kagami-biraki”、 which is a Japanese traditional ceremony to celebrate New Year together with Miss International Netherlands who is appointed as a special envoy for the promotion of tourism to Japan. After the ceremony everyone that had gathered was treated to sushi and sake.
