Conferment Ceremony of “The Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Rays” upon Mr. Hans de Wekker, former president of the Kyudo Renmei Nederland (June 12, 2018)

On June 12, 2018, a ceremony was held at the Residence of Japanese Ambassador to confer“The Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Rays” upon Mr. Hans de Wekker, former president of the Kyudo Renmei Nederland (Dutch Kyudo Federation).
During the ceremony, Ambassador Inomata delivered a congratulatory speech and conferred the decoration upon Mr. de Wekker after prese
nting the Patent of Decoration.
Close friends, family members and people from both Japanese and Dutch Budo (Japanese martial arts) and cultural communities were present to congratulate Mr. de Wekker on his decoration.

On April 29, 2018, the Government of Japan announced the foreign recipients of the 2018 Spring Conferment of Decorations.
Among them, Mr. Hans de Wekker, the former chairman of the Kyudo Renmei Nederland (the Dutch Kyudo Federation), will receive “The Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Rays” in recognition of his significant contribution to promoting Kyudo (Japanese archery) in the Netherlands and friendly relations between Japan and the Netherlands.
Mr. de Wekker will receive the decoration during a special ceremony this summer.

 

The Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Rays
