Conferment Ceremony of ”The Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Rays” upon Mr. Albert Emmink, founder and former chairman of the Foundation Friends of Japan (January 18, 2019)

On January 18, 2019, a ceremony was held at the Residence of Japanese Ambassador  to confer“The Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Rays” upon Mr. Albert Emmink, the founder and former chairman of the Foundation Friends of Japan.
During the ceremony, Ambassador Inomata delivered a congratulatory speech and conferred the decoration upon Mr. Emmink after presenting the Patent of Decoration.
Mr. Bouman, the Mayor of Noordoostpolder, as well as close friends, family members and people involved in the youth exchange program between the Netherlands and Japan were present to congratulate Mr. Emmink on his decoration.

On November 3, 2018, the Government of Japan announced the foreign recipients of the 2018 Autumn Conferment of Decorations.
Among them, Mr. Albert Emmink, the former chairman and founder of the Foundation Friends of Japan, will receive “The Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Rays” in recognition of his significant contribution to promoting youth exchange and mutual understanding between Japan and the Netherlands.
