Cocktail reception to celebrate the enthronement of the new Emperor on May 1st 2019
On May 1st, 2019, the first year of the new Reiwa era, Ambassador and Madame Inomata held a cocktail reception at the Ambassador’s residence to celebrate the enthronement of His Majesty the Emperor on the same day. The reception was attended by around 80 guests, amongst which representatives of the Dutch government, the parliament, cities, municiparities,the diplomatic corps, Dutch and Japanese business circles, and members of the Japanese community.
Displaying the warm ties between the Netherlands and Japan, the President of the Dutch senate delivered a congratulatory address, followed by the Ambassador’s speech expressing his hopes for world peace and the further development of Dutch-Japanese relations in the Reiwa era. Afterwards, the guests enjoyed the remainder of the reception while writing congratulatory messages in a special celebrative book.
