Mrs. Jeanette A. Taudin Chabot receives the Foreign Minister’s Commendation (25 October 2019)

On Friday, 25 October 2019, Ambassador Horinouchi presented Mrs. Jeanette A. Taudin Chabot with the Foreign Minister’s Commendation during a ceremony at the Ambassador’s Residence.

Mrs. Chabot has been active for more than thirty years as one of the most important interpreters in the Netherlands, interpreting from Japanese to English and from Japanese to Dutch. Moreover, she has introduced the Dutch way of life as well as the unique social welfare system and the health care system of the Netherlands to Japan through writing and lectures.

In recognition of this and her achievements in contributing to mutual understanding between Japan and the Netherlands over a long period of time, she has been awarded the Foreign Minister’s Commendation.
