Working Holiday Programme between Japan and the Netherlands
On 12 December 2019, the Notes Verbales regarding the Working Holiday Programme were exchanged in The Hague between the Ambassador of Japan, Mr. Horinouchi Hidehisa, and H.E. Mrs. Sigrid Kaag, Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
The Working Holiday Programme is intended to allow young people of the partner countries who have a valid visa to stay in the other country for up to a year. During this period they will be allowed to engage in employment as an incidental activity of their holiday without a work permit to supplement their travel funds.
The programme between Japan and the Netherlands will start from 1 April 2020. We hope that this programme will provide the youth of both countries with more opportunities to promote youth exchanges as well as mutual understanding between our two countries.
※Details regarding the application procedure will be posted on our home page when more information is available.
