Conferral of the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Neck Ribbon upon Esquire Willem Hooft Graafland, former Japanese Honorary Consul-General in Rotterdam (October 14, 2022)

     On October 14, 2022, a ceremony was held at the Residence of Japanese Ambassador to confer “The Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Neck Ribbon” upon Esquire Hoof Graafland, former Honorary Consul-General of Japan in Rotterdam. He contributed to the promotion of exchange and friendship between Japan and the Netherlands.
     During the ceremony, Ambassador Horinouchi delivered a congratulatory speech and conferred the decoration upon Esquire Hoof Graafland after presenting the Patent of Decoration. Close friends, family members were present to congratulate Esquire Hoof Graafland on his decoration.

     On April 29, 2021, the Government of Japan announced the foreign recipients of the 2021 Spring Conferment of Decorations.
     Among them, Esq. Willem Folef Hooft Graafland, former Honorary Consul-General of Japan in Rotterdam, will receive “The Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Neck Ribbon” in recognition of his exceptional contribution to promoting exchanges and friendship between Japan and the Netherlands.
