The Embassy of Japan in the Netherlands announces a vacancy for an Assistant in the Consular Section.
 
1. Working conditions:
(1) Start date: September 2025 (negotiable)
(2) Working hours: Weekdays (excluding holidays) 9:00-17:00 (Lunch break: 12:30-13:30)
(3) Salary: Determined based on educational background, experience, ability, etc. 
(4) Main business activities: Consular assistance
 ・Consular reception (passports, visas, various certifications, family registry, etc.)
 ・Responding to inquiries related to consular matters (phone, email)
 ・Communicating and coordinating with Dutch government agencies
 ・Entering various data, organizing documents
 ・Other tasks as instructed
 
2. Requirements:
(1) Those with a legal work permit in the Netherlands.
(2) If candidate is non-Dutch national, the following criteria must be met;
 a. A residence permit with ‘arbeid vrij toegestaan’ issued by the Dutch government.
 b. In possession of a permanent residence permit issued by the Dutch government or married a Dutch national and determined to reside permanently in the Netherlands.
(3) Language skills
 a. Language proficiency in Japanese and English in reading, writing and speaking to perform duties.
 b. Communication skill in Dutch would be an advantage.
(4) Sufficient computer skills (e.g. E-mail, Word, and Excel).
(5) Good health condition.
(6) Ability to work overtime and at weekends when necessary.
(7) A strong sense of responsibility and ability to work in our team.
(8) Customer-friendly attitude.
 
3. Applications
(1) The following documents are required.
 - A CV with background, motivation, qualifications etc.
 - A recent photograph of candidate (not older than 3 months.)
 - A copy of a graduation certificate of the candidate’s final academic educational institute and a qualification certificate (if written in Dutch, translation must be attached in either English or Japanese).
 - Copy of ID such as passport.
 - For non-Dutch people: copy of residence and work permit.
