Conferment Ceremony of the Certificate of Commendation 2025(October 17, 2025)

On 17 October 2025, a conferment ceremony for the Certificate of Commendation was held at the residence of the Japanese Ambassador to honor five individuals who have made distinguished contribution to promoting Japan-Netherlands exchanges.
The recipients of the award were active in organizations such as the Dutch public-interest foundation, the Asia-Pacific War Japan-related Historical Materials and Academic Liaison Support Foundation (SOO, Stichting Oorlogsgetroffenen in de Oost), which was established in April 2012 and dissolved in August 2022.
The foundation conducted research to locate Japanese family members of second-generation Dutch of Japanese descent, provided information to families of Dutch war victims, and translated personal records of prisoners of war and internees. These individuals contributed as volunteers to mutual understanding and reconciliation between Japan and the Netherlands.
Following congratulatory remarks from Ambassador MINAMI, the Certificate of Commendation was presented.
