Conferment of the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Rosette upon Prof. Em. Dr. Janny de Jong（November 3, 2025）

On 3 November 2025, the Government of Japan announced the foreign recipients of the 2025 Autumn Conferment of Decorations. Among them, Prof. em. Dr. Janny de Jong, former Professor of Europe-East Asia Relations with a focus on Japan, of University of Groningen and former Director of the Centre for Japan Studies of University of Groningen, will receive “The Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Rosette” in recognition of her significant contribution to promoting academic relations and mutual understandings between Japan and the Netherlands.
