2025/12/23
On 18 December, Ambassador Rokuichiro MICHII paid a visit to the Permanent Court of Arbitration (PCA) where he was received by the Secretary-General Dr. Marcin Czepelak. They exchanged views on the important role of the PCA in today’s context and also discussed how Japan could enhance its co-operation with this small and agile international organisation.
Inaugurated in 1899 as the very first global mechanism for the settlement of international disputes, the PCA is housed in the Peace Palace since the latter’s foundation in 1913. Japan is a contracting party since 1912.
