Visit by H.E. Ambassador MICHII to the Centre for Chemistry and Technology of the OPCW (February 3, 2026)

On 3rd February, Ambassador MICHII visited the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) Centre for Chemistry and Technology (CCT).
During the visit, Ambassador MICHII gained a deeper understanding of the OPCW’s initiatives to enhance specialized expertise and technical capacities in support of the global effort to eliminate chemical weapons while exchanging productive views to further strengthen our relationship.
Japan has been supporting the OPCW’s mission, having contributed 2.4 million euros as a voluntary contribution in 2020 for the construction of the CCT. Japan remains committed to advancing the OPCW’s capacity building efforts, as well as to upholding the norm of the Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC).
