The Embassy of Japan in the Netherlands announces a vacancy in the Cultural Section
 
 
1. Scope of Duties:
Assistant to the Cultural Section Diplomatic Staff
- Making appointments and arranging meetings
- Writing/drafting letters and e-mails
- Making/updating lists for Embassy events, receptions, etc.
- Preparation for and on-site assistance with Embassy events and receptions
Cultural Promotion and Outreach
- Maintaining the day-to-day operation of the Cultural and Information Centre
- Organizing Embassy’s cultural events and participating in third-party cultural events
- Communication with cultural organizations
Education and Exchange Programs
- Assisting with the selection processes of the Government scholarship programs and communication with scholarship students in Japan
- Assisting with exchange programs such as the JET program
- Supporting sister city relationships
- Giving presentation on Japan to Dutch students and other interested groups
SNS/Public Relations
- Creating/editing contents for the Embassy’s SNS accounts and the official website
Any other tasks falling under the Cultural Section.
 
2. Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, or higher. 
Good command of English (C1 or higher) and native-level fluency in both written and spoken Dutch. Fluency in the Japanese language (B2 or higher) is a big plus.
Highly practical acquaintance with the Microsoft Office applications, especially Word, Excel and Power Point, and audio-visual editing skills.
Flexibility, interpersonal skills, intercultural sensitivity and the ability to work in a team.
Keen interest in both Japanese and Dutch culture, and historical relationship between Japan and the Netherlands
Knowledge of Japanese workplace culture is an advantage.
Acquaintance with current national and international affairs is a welcome quality.
